How a confused employer finally figured out employee discipline and termination.

If you are not going to enforce other rules, what is to make the worker decide to wear proper safety equipment and to follow other safety methods? Does the worker feel the boss was discriminatory in any way? An difficult employee is a danger to the firm, other workers and himself. For example, for a oral notification, it may be violating an important safety rule or culminating many missed deadlines with a recent failure to meet an important one. Because this often happens once a worker is aware of problems between the boss and themselves, you must carefully document all discussions on the problem. When your company does not provide a reformatory program, you can require them to seek outside help. As you now know, separating a worker is not as simple as saying "you're fired." It's a legal program and is therefore much more complicated that it appears on the surface. Also give any steps you have taken to rehabilitate the worker before separation.

Make clear what items the jobholder should return to the company such as firm identification, business credit cards or debit cards, and equipment provided to the jobholder, such as a laptop or a cellular phone. Writing a termination notice can be difficult. A wise employer should always be sure to follow policy and rules in place, to sidestep any future lawsuit. In approaching separation, you should use progressive discipline. However, now and then you must take action. In the employee written notice you are essentially outlining any reasons you might, in the future, decide to layoff. According to our business policy, I'll be placing a copy of this final written notice into your permanent employees file. If you feel that rehabilitation is still possible, the next step you take may be a project or a series of projects that improves your workforce job productivity.
